Mangalore: The installation of GPS in sand transporting vehicle must be cancelled since many poor people are finding difficult to construct the house , said that ZP official speaking at the Zilla Panchayath review meeting held at the newly constructed auditorium on September 9, Thursday.
He also urged that the rule of the sand mining must be simplified. After the implementation of GPS the rule of sand transporting had become difficult. He also suggested the authorities to submit memorandum to the DC to simplify the rule for the sand transportation.
While Azeez Malar said that the frequent sand transportation in the state has led to bad condition of roads. Hence the authorities must conduct the discussion on the matter and take the initiative to work for the development of the roads.
Further the Zilla Panchayath president Santhosh Kumar Bhandary said that, the Zilla Panchayath and Taluk Panchayath will discuss on matter and give the memorandum to the DC.
Zilla Panchayath Vice –president Jagannath Salian, Rajashri Hegde, Venkat Dambe Kodi and others were present on the occasion.
