Mangalore: A special camp for special children was organised at Canara High School (Main in Mangalore under the aegis of Ashajyothi Ashakta Makkala mattu Hettavara Vedike , a concern of Seva Bharathi.
The camp meant for the differently abled was inaugurated by CG Pinto, General Manager of Corporation Bank. In his address, he said Corporation Bank would always extend its wholehearted co-operation to such programmes.
Shakuntala, Deputy Director of the Department of Women and Child Welfare, said the differently abled children needed good training and rehabilitation more than sympathy.
Outstanding differently abled people namely P Suresh Nayak and MS Anjanadevi were felicitated on the occasion. Dr Ali Kumble, Managing Director of Indiana Hospital. Giridhar Shetty, Owner of Sagar Reality Promotions, Dr V Muralidhar Nayak, B Srinivas Rao, Preisdnt of Ashajyothi Vedike were present.
Variety of sports events, food fests and entertainment programmes were organized. A free eye check up camp was also organized by KMC doctors.
