Bantwal : The man responsible for the murder of 22 year old Sowmya of Baltila village in Kalladka should get a stern punishment like death penalty, demanded villagers in unison at a meeting of Baltila villagers held at the  Gram Panchayat Hall on March 2, Saturday.

Participants of the meeting while mourning the death of a young life which was trampled tragically,  strongly condemned the incident and hoped such incidents did not recur. It further observed that such incidents can be prevented only when perpetrators of such acts get capital punishment.

The  villagers also demanded a thorough investigation into the case and justice to Sowmya family. An appeal was also made to provide compensation to the bereaved family.

Several leaders including Sulochana Bhat, Chief of Bal Bhavan Society, ZP member sChandraprakash Shetty, Mamatha Gatti, Padmanabha Kottari, Distrit BJP Chief. Lalitha Shivappa Naik, President of Bantwal TP attended  the meeting.

The participants reseted the failure of the DC and the MP to visit the family of Sowmya until now.
