Mangalore The Janata Dal(S) which has plunged into the election scenario of Mangalore City Corporation with the tagline ‘For a Change’ promises to bring the much needed change in MCC rule if elected to power. The party has fielded candidates in 48 wards, the highest number of candidates it has fielded so far and is hopeful of a win.
The party feels there is a pro-JD(S) wave in the city as the people are fed up with the years of Congress rule in the MCC and the last five year of BJP rule. The JD(S) has promised to be the change which the people of Mangalore want to see.
Habeeb Khader , 47 Milagres Ward
The Party has fielded Habeeb Khader from 47 Milagres Ward for the ensuing MCC elections. Habeeb, a known personality in the area, while pointing out to the several pressing problems confronting the ward, has a promise that he would strive his level best to solve the same.
He says the several problems like disorderly side drains, gushing in of rain water to nearby houses during monsoon and the mosquito menace resulting in rising cases of Malaria and dengue, has been testing the patience of the people and that the erstwhile Corporator has failed to look into the problem. He alleges that there has been no desilting of side drains even once in the past five year period.
If elected , he promises constitution of a ward committee to discuss the problems of the ward and find solution to the same. He also assures to divulge details regarding all works underway in the ward and steps to end mosquito menace. Khader also assures to solve the drinking water and underground drainage problems in the ward.
