Kasargod :  Several students of a school at Thalangere near here were lucky enough  and escaped a major mishap when their school bus rolled down and fell into a railway track nearly 50 feet beneath on March 5, Tuesday. The mishap took place minutes before the students could board the bus to go home.

The driver had parked the vehicle outside the school and had gone inside the school. It is said the handbrake was not in position and the bus took a backward turn and fell into the railway track.

The students were later sent home by another vehicle. The fire service and police personnel who rushed to the place cleared the railway track. Train movement was affected for over an hour following the accident.
