Mangalore : The Oscar winning movie ‘Life of Pi’ has something to do with Dakshina Kannada.
A youth hailing from Kulalu in Kolnadu Panchayat of Bantwal, named Avinash Bhandary has w worked as the compositor of this mega film.
Avinash, the grandson of veteran freedom fighter Kulal Annappa Bhandari, is the son of Ramdas Bhandary and Vani Bhandari.
After his initial schooling at Ramakrishna High School, Mangalore, he had his college education from St Aloysius College and did his engineering at Nitte Engineering College. He later worked at a Mumbai based company ‘Rhythm of Hues’ after a PG Diploma in Visual Effects and Animation from Chennai’s I-CAT.
Rhythm of Hues where Avinash is employed, has several Mangaloreans including Kunal Prabhu, Sonia D’Costa, Shashikiran Jeppu and Ajay Ubrangala from Kasargod.
