Mangalore:  The College Day of Manipal College of Dental Sciences was celebrated at TMA Pai Convention Centre here on March 15, Friday. Chitra Devi Ramaiah, Consul General of Malaysia inaugurated the programme.

In her address, she said  education should not only empower minds, but should also produce quality citizens who will contribute to the society and help in its development. Education is the foundation for success, she added.

 Dr V Surendra Shetty, pro-vice chancellor, released the College magazine.  HS Ballal, Pro-Chancellor also spoke on the occasion.

Dr Mohan Baliga from MCODS also spoke.Dean of Medical College of Dental Sciences, Dr Dilip Nayak presented the annual report.

Awards were presented to meritorious students. Students also presented a variety of cultural programmes.
