Mangalore: A Free Health Camp organised at Sri Bhoothanatheshawara Temple, Badaga Yedapadavu, Mijar, Mangalore, in association with AJ Institute of <Medical Sceiences was inaugurated on March 24, Sunday by AJ Shetty, Chairman of the Institute.
In his address, AJ Shetty said the hospital provided a wide range of health services free of charge to the poor people. Nearly 400 people are availing this facility every day.
He also lauded the efforts of Vijaynath Shetty, entrepreneur for his social service initiatives.
Nearly 300 people benefitted from the camp.Janashree Group Insurance Scheme was introduced for the benefit of the rural people in association with Life Insurance Corporation of India. About 125 people have enrolled for this scheme.
Vijaynath Shetty, Chief Co-ordinator of the camp, Dr. Manjunath Kamath, Head of the Department of Gynecology, AJIMS, Jagadish Adhikari and others spoke. Krishna Kumar Poonja of Sevanjali Trust, Farangipete spoke on the benefits of Janashree Group Insurance Scheme. Kanthappa Shetty of Sri Bhoothanatheshawara Bhajana Mandali, Bhaskar Arasa, Public Relations Officer of AJ Hospital & Research Centre and others were present.
Those interested in joining the Janashree Group Insurance Scheme can do so till March 26. Janashree Group Insurance Scheme was introduced in association with Life Insurance Corporation of India. Those availing the insurance should pay Rs.100 premium for Rs. 30,000 insurance cover for one year. This includes cover of Rs. 30,000/- in case of normal death and Rs. 75,000/- for accidental death, along with a string of other benefits. The scheme is open to Below the Poverty Line (BPL) individuals aged from 18 to 58 years.
