Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Gopalan Kutty, Former Professor and HOD-History, Calicut University, said late Azad’s perspective of a communal free society was relevant at all times. He said Maulana Azad had great respect for all religions and wanted people to move along with times. He described Azad as a champion of Hindu-Muslim unity. He said Maulana Azad initiated several revolutionary measures as India’s first education minister.
Kudpi Jagadish Shenoy, President, Women’s National Education Society, Mangalore, Dr. Manjula KT, Principal, Besant Women’s College, Mangalore, Ganesh Pai, Head of the Department of History of the College and others were present on the occasion.
