Kasargod : Kasargod police have apprehended a woman who was carrying as much as 6 kg of ganja with her near the railway station here. The arrested is Zuhara (45 ) from Talangere.

Police took her into custody on suspicion and on interrogation she revealed that she was taking the ganja to be handed over to a person in Kannur and that the ganja was brought from Andhra Pradesh. She had  three bags with ganja covered in paper and plastic sheets.

This is the third major haul in the district in the past two week period. Earlier on March 14, 54 kg of ganja was seized from two persons while 110 kg ganja was seized from two others in Talangere on March20.

Investigations are  in progress.
