Mangalore : New DC Harsha Gupta takes charge on March 28, Thursday.
Speaking at the press meet held at DC Office on March 29, Friday, he said that he was back to the coastal region after 14 years. It is home coming feeling for me after working as the ADC in Puttur.
He also said that as per the order of election commission, he had to take charge immediately. Further he would discuss with other officials regarding the upcoming election and aims to ensure more voters to participate in the election.
He will work to maintain smooth conduct of election and review the code of conduct. The team of flying squad, video viewing team and surveillance team are ready to view the code of conduct.
DC also said that he will make a list of officials who have worked for more than three years for election duty in the same district and sent to the state authority for changes in their duty.
The public can call to 1077 for registering any complaints at DC Office which will work as the call centre will receive any complaints from public regarding the election and will be transferring it to the concerned officials.
More police personnel will be deployed in the naxal affected areas for smooth conducting of election.
ADC K Dayanand said that he has received three complaints as per the code of conduct during the ULB elections including presence of Deputy Speaker N Yogish Bhat at the press meet conducted by MUDA chairman S Ramesh and other is the government beneficiary cheque distributed in Moodbidri. These complaints of violating code of conduct will be forwarded to the monitoring committee for review, he said.
