Kundapur : The French consul general from Bangalore, Eric Lavertu, and press attache, Hemangini Rakshit, visited the residence of Krishnaiah Mogaveera who was killed in firing by French troops by mistake near the Bangui Airport in Central African Republic on March 26.
The French Consul General from Bangalore met the grief-stricken family members of Krishnaiah at their house at Kattu in HEmmady village. Lavertu who spoke to reporters said the French government has regretted the incident and that an enquiry will be held. Action would soon follow. He also assured that steps would be taken to provide compensation to the family.
There is information that the mortal remains of Krishnaiah Mogaveera will reach Mumbai on April 7, Sunday and will be brought to his home town later on via Mangalore.
