Mangalore : District BJP president Padmanabha Kottary felicitated newly appoint BJP National Vice president and Former Chief Minister of Karnataka DV Sadananda Gowda at party office on April 2, Tuesday.

Speaking after receiving the felicitation, DVS said that BJP is the only party where party workers are recognized and give an opportunity to attain higher post.

He also said that the BJP is like a pyramid, in which party workers are the base and he is the one who is appointed to break the pot.

Speaking about his journey in the party, DVS said that in 1967, he joined as the party worker for applying the wall poster and never thought he will reach to such an extent. This success is gained just because of the effort of workers.

The 2004 state legislative assembly was the preparatory election for the upcoming election of 2013. The party must work hard since it is the biggest challenge.

State BJP has not reached the people expectation in first three years, but the later two years, it has given fair governance without any corruption and case of denotification.

The party and people had suffered three years due to the dictatorship of single man. Every BJP leaders are also partly responsible for the problem created by the single man rule, he said.

The State government had introduced Sakaala and it was followed by many other states and it is a matter for prestige for the BJP, he stated.

DVS said that he alone is not the National vice president of BJP but every worker are leaders in the state. Don’t think me as a leader but consider me as one of the worker along with others, he added.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the gaining for the post of National vice president was only possible by DVS. He is the good example for other workers, to gain higher post who was only a worker then.

BJP leaders like Padmanabha Kottary, Mallika Prasad, Krishna J Palemar, MLC Monappa Bhandary, Deputy Speaker N Yogish Bhat, G K Sulochana Bhat and Prathap Simha Nayak were present on the Dias.
