Mangalore : KPCC secretary Ivan D’Souzasupporters staged a protest a in front of District Congress Office on April 6, Saturday, for not giving seat for him.

Addressing the protestors, Michael Lobo, general secretary of district congress said that the Congress party had assured Ivan D’Souza to give seat to him till yesterday, but all of suddenly, they announced the name of J R Lobo who had just joined the party three months back.

He also said that Ivan D’Souza has worked for the party from 10 years as the worker, but they had not respected his dedicated shown towards the party and announced J R Lobo as the candidate to be contested against Deputy MLA Yogesh Bhat.

Former Mayor ad congress leader Ashraf said that the supporters of Ivan are urging the high command of Congress in Bangalore from past 15 days, but they have ignored it.

We are not against J R Lobo, but we are against injustice done to Ivan, he said.

When we asked about seat with Janardhan Poojary, he suggests to ask with Oscar Fernandes and when urged him, he said to ask with Oil Minister M Veerappa Moily  In fact all these have planned to give seat to Lobo, he said.

There are many other senior congress workers, then what was the reason to give importance to recently joined member, he said.

Congress leaders like Mithun Rai and Praveen Chandra Alva were present.
