Mangalore :  A man named Sudhaker Nayak (32) from Tenka Edapadavu who was posing as a great astrologer and then looting people was arrested by the Barke police on April 6, Saturday evening.

 Barke police have also recovered 132 grams of gold ornaments worth Rs 3.5 lakh from him, apart from gold worth Rs 2.5 lakh in banks, including 107 grams in Ganjimutt agricultural service co-operative bank and 25 grams in Yedavapadu agricultural service co-operative bank. An urn, mobile phones, utensils etc were also seized from him.

The police zeroed in on Sudhaker Nayak after a woman from Barke informed the police on beat in the ara that she had lost Rs 80,000 to an astrologer. The alert police kept track of him and apprehended him.

It has been gathered that he used to fleece people after promising to solve their problems and even used to create rift between brothers.
