Addressing the protestors, Vijay Hegde State vice-president said that the since the power generated from Jog Falls and UPCL is diverted to places like Bangalore and Hassan, the people from coastal region are suffering the frequent power cut.
The power department in order to supply electricity to the people of Bangalore is cheating the students of coastal districts during the examination. Whether the students of coastal district are low compared to the students of Bangalore in education, he asked.
The farmers are facing difficulties due to the power cuts. They also demanded to give power generated from Jog station to twin districts and power from UPCL to others.
On the demand of the protestors, Mescom vigilant SP Ravi Narayan came to talk to the protestors, but they did not agree to discuss the unsolved problem with him and demanded to speak to Mescom MD Sumanth.

In reply, MD Sumanth said that the officials will conduct an enquiry into the matter and take strict action against the culprit based on the report.
