Bantwal : Two teenagers drowned in the pond of the Karinjeshwara Temple at Karinja on April 11 afternoon, when they were enjoying a swim.

The deceased have been identified as Athwin D’Mello (21), son of Thomas and Arcilla D’Mello, Farla, and Roshan Lasrado (17), son of John and Leena Lasrado.

The two along with Prakash Veigas(19) had been to the pond for a swim in the afternoon. It is said they were not good at swimming and drowned. Prakash who swam to the banks,screamed for help. However, by the time the two were found in the lake, they had  breathed their last.

Athwin was the president of ICYM, Farla Church and a student of  KPT, Bantwal. Roshan was a second PU student of Deepika college, Modankap.

 Bantwal police have registered a case.
