Mangalore : A clash has taken place in the Mangalore jail on April 12, Friday. A police informer turned thief Muneer Ahmed who was recently arrested on the charges of thefts in several shops in Mangalore and was lodged in the jail was attacked by Rasheed Malbari, a notorious underworld don and two others

The other two accused are Madoor Subbu and Hyder. It is said they attacked Muneer following suspicion that he was informing the CCB police who visited the jail  regularly regarding the on goings in the prison.

Muneer has been admitted to Wenlock Hospital. The accused Rasheed has been in prison since 2009.

The injured Muneer was once a police informer for a senior officer  and had even accused the officer of entering into dealings with criminals by taking undue advantage of the information provided by him.
