Mangalore : All India Congress Committee President Sonia Gandhi will participate in the poll campaigning programme and public meeting to be held at Nehru Maidan on April 25, Thursday.
Speaking at the press meet held at District Congress Office on April 20, Saturday, KPCC Secretary and DK Election Convenor in-charge Ivan D’Souza said that the party workworkers and leaders will take part in the public meeting and the congress leaders will hold a meeting with police officials regarding the security measures for the programme.
Speaking on the election preparation, he said that the candidates and party activists have already started campaigning for the election and the door to door campaign will begin today. The party will release its election manifesto on Monday.
Union Minister M Veerappa Moily who has completed one round of campaigning in district is back to Bangalore, while senior leader Oscar Fernandes will arrive in city and begin his election campaign in different parts of the district for three days, Ivan said.
The internal differences in the party have been sorted out, and no rebel with benefit the saffron party. The congress will gain victory in all the 8 constituencies in the districts without any doubt.
He also said that the BJP in the 2008 election made a manifesto titled ‘Sankalp’ and new manifesto will title ‘Vikas’. In the 63 paged manifestos, BJP has repeated 23 pages of old achievements. But the difference between both the manifesto lies in the photo in which Former CM B S Yeddyurappa was shown in ‘Sankalp, while ‘Vikas’ portray Preent CM Jagadish Shettar’s photo.
Congress leaders K Ashraf, Sadashiv Ullal, Ibrahim Kodijal, Hasanabba, Nazeer Bajal and others were present.
