Mangalore : Ambit Computer & Technical Training Institute Mangalore had recently conducted AMBIT Short Film Competition on the eve of 64th Independence day celebrations.

The prize distribution of this Short Film competition was held in their premises on Saturday, 18th  In this event, Ambit Ambassador Mr.Prasad B.N. was the coordinator, Dr.S.M.Shivprakash, Secretary,  Karavali Belli Mandala, a sister concern of Karnataka Film Academy and Mr.Jayaram Navada, Animator were the juries for this competition.

The second place was bagged by Mr. Sithesh Chandra Govind, Dia Productions whose story was titled  The Glory of Lord Shree Veera Venkatesha – A Saga Unfold’’

A 25 minutes short film was released recently by the senior pontiff of Sri Kashi Math Shree Sudheendra Thirtha Swami, at Sri Venkatarama Temple, Car Street, Mangalore. This short film, which is related to ‘Kodial Theru’, the famous car festival Mangalore, was made by Sithesh Chandra Govind, an art director from Mangalore. This is his first directorial film.
The film begins with a library shot and the cast spots a book relating to Shree Veera Venkatesha and this inspires him for further quest for virtual divine experience. This unique film is the director’s maiden attempt in short documentary filmmaking.
The first place was bagged by Mr. Naveen Bekal, Hi-Vision Production, Mangalore whose documentary named ‘Miss U…’ the story based on new couples who got married recently and met with an accident in the Bajpe plane tragedy. And third place went to ‘Rabiya’ produced by Jalesh & Team of St.Aloysius College, Mangalore.  This story is about a Muslim girl who is very much fond of Classical dance and opposed by her own community and she ultimately removes all obstacles with the courage given by her mother.
The prize award ceremony was compered by Mr.Prasad B.N and Dr.S.M.Shivprakash was the chief guest.  While distributing the prizes, Dr.S.M.Shivprakash praised the Film Directors  for the interest showing on short film and stressed upon the importance of shown about our atmosphere and greenery.
Mr.Jagadish of Ambit has assured full co-operation for the production of short films in future.
