Kasargod : A woman and her little daughter drowned in a stream at Beejantadka here on April 26, Friday afternoon.

The deceased are Saraswathi (36), wife of Sanjeeva from Kandattodi and her daughter Anjana (10). The tragic incident took place when they had been to their ancestral home for the  Daiva Kola.

According to sources Anjana had stepped into the rivulet along with a friend and was drowned. Saraswathi who rushed to her daughter’s rescue drowned in the process.

Though locals who rushed to the spot, tried to save the duo, they were unsuccessful.
