Mangalore : A team of high level officials, acting on a tip off raided an apartment at Attavar on April 29, Monday and seized a cash of Rs 63 lakhs. The suspicion is that the cash was used for political activities.
The flat belonged to one UN Abdul Razak, who however has denied the allegation. The flat is owned by his daughter and it is said he could not provide accounts of the cash which was found in his house. A case has been registered for poll code violation.
Razak was engaged in fishing business. Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta, ACP Jagannath, sector magistrate and election officers were part of the raid.
Pandeshwar police have registered a case.
