Kundapur : Over 1000 officials on election duty, who had arrived at two centres in Kundapur on April 29, Monday to exercise their postal ballot, had to be disappointed when the names of several of them were missing in the voters’ list. A training programme on election procedures had also been arranged.
However, the situation was utterly chaotic at the two centres namely Kundapur Government Pre-University College and the St Mary’s School.
Tahsildar Gayatri Devi who rushed to the spot, took the officials to task for the unsatisfactory arrangements.
Additional DC Kumar, Kundapur Assistant Commissioner and Election Officer Yogishwar also visited the spot.
Election officer Yogishwar later said out of the 1020, 627 exercised their postal ballot and that arrangements would be made for the rest on April 30 and May 2 at the special counter at Kundapur taluk office.
He said the confusion arose as the postal ballot and training programme was conducted the same day.
