Bangalore : The Karnataka state went to poll on 5th May 2013 with 4.36 crore electorate. The voting was By and large peaceful in 223 segments in which 2,940 candidates were contesting.
The early Estimate shows that around 65 percent votes were caste in the state.
Due to demise of BJP candidate, Election in Piriyapattana of Mysore District has been put off until May 28th. Joint chief Election officer Shamaya told that polling was peaceful and no disruption of voting reported from any were in the state.
The exact poll percentage will be available by evening. The counting of votes will begin on May 8th.
The security arrangements for the election were over seen by 1.35 lakh security personnel and some 52,000 polling booths, 65,000 electronic voting machines had been installed.
