Manglore/Udupi : The Karnataka State Assembly election ended in peaceful manner with estimated 65% of voting. The turnout in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District is much higher than state average.
The final figure available with returning officer in DK district is 72.38%. Bethangady -74.05%, Bantwal-78%, Sullia-72%, Puttur-80%, Mudbidri-73.06%, Mangalore North 67%, Mangalore South – 64%, Mangalore-73%.
Barring few minor incidents the polling was peaceful thanks to security personal and election officials over seeing poll conducts to its logical conclusion.
For the first time Election were conducted under strict code of conduct of election commission of India and officials implemented the rules in letter and spirit.
Hoardings, Banners were absent in present election and candidates conducted door to door campaign to avoid breach of election code of conduct.
Now future government of Karnataka is safe in side electronic voting machine and come out of hibernation on May 8th.
