Udupi : The luggage limits for train passengers has been fixed by the railway department and henceforth train passengers cannot carry more luggage.

A passenger travelling in general compartment can carry luggage weighjing upto 35 kg, while in 3-tier AC compartments, each passenger can carry a maximum luggage weighing 40 kg. In 2-tier AC compartments, each passenger can carry 50 kg weighing luggage while in sleeper class bogies passengers can carry luggage weighing 40 kgs without any fee.

Passengers having luggage over and above this will have to pay additional fee after weighing the luggage.

Henceforth train passengers will be careful while carrying extra luggage lest they will have to pay more to the railway authorities.
