Uupi : Doordarshan will telecast Tulu-Kannada TV serial ‘Koti Chennayya’ on its Chandana channel every Sunday from 9 am to 9.30 am  from May 12 onwards.

Informing this, K Ashok M Suvarna, producer of the film,  said the serial depicts the life and times of Tulunadu’s folk heroes Koti and Chennaya. He said already shooting of 20 episodes is complete and added the serial is based on a  work authored by his father Late Muddu Suvarna.

The serial in Kannada, will be dubbed into Tulu, he said adding the songs are composed by Vamana Nandavara, Ganesh Amin Sankamar, Amritha Someshwara and BA Viveka Rai. The serial is directed by Chandrahas Alva and will have a total of 250 episodes.

UDaya Shetty Inna will be Koti in the serial while Dr Mohan Alva of Moodbidri will don the role of Perumala Ballal. The shooting locations are  in and around Udupi.
