Mangalore : Two unidentified assailants have attacked and injured a seer from Badrinath who had arrived in the city and had been to the service bus stand to board a bus to Dharmasthala, late night on May 13, Monday.

The injured seer is Sri Vijayagiri Maharaj (56) from Srirama Giri Maharaj Kuteer in Badrinath. The complaint lodged by the seer to Pandeshwar police station said the assailants who first demanded his cell phone, hit him when he refused and then escaped with his heels.

He suspected that they were crew of some bus. He said he wanted to go to Dharmasthala, but there was no bus as it was 11.45 pm by the time he reached the bus stand.

Pandeshwar police have registered a case and are investigating.
