Mangalore : Gold and cash worth nearly Rs 2.67 lakhs were stolen from the house of one Mamatha Prabhu on Kudmul Ranga Rao Road here on May 16, Thursday. The theft occurred during broad daylight when Mamatha was away from home for just an hour.

The thieves had broken open the front door and had stolen a cash of Rs 20,000, gold weighing 20 sovereigns and a mobile phone.

It is suspected that someone watching Mamatha’s movements might have resorted to theft. Kadri police are investigating.
