Udupi : A couple identified as Balakrishna Shetty (50) and his wife Mamata Shetty (40) who were on way  to Kaup from Kurkal in their Honda Activa met a tragic end when a KSRTC bus rammed into their two-wheeler  near Kaup Marigudi on May 21, Tuesday.

The deceased hailed from Kaup Thenkukere Hosamane and have three children.  Balakrishna Shetty ran a grocery shop. It is said the KSRTC Volvo bus driver in a bid to overtake a tanker hit the two-wheeler. The seriously injured couple though were rushed to the hospital, they could not be saved.

Kaup police have registered a case.
