Mangalore : A Gujarati youth who had come all the way from Gujarat to meet his sweetheart from Mulki and then elope with her, had to return disappointed after the girl’s sister foiled their plans by alerting the public.

The incident was reported from Ballalbagh in Mangalore on May 20. It is learnt a girl from a family from  Mulki which had settled in Gujarat was in love with  a neighbouring youth. But her parents were against the affair as the boy was not only a divorcee but also did not have a permanent job. But when their affair continued, the girl’s family sent her to native place of Mulki where too she continued her affair with the boy by remaining in touch over mobile phone.

Finally, one day the youth arrived in Mangalore by a car from Gujarat with aplan to elope with his sweet heart. However, the girl’s younger sister who grew suspicious followed her elder sister and on seeing her board a car near Ballalbagh, raised a cry when people around caught hold of the youth. The police later left him free after warning him as the girl’s family did not want a complaint to be registered.
