Mangalore :  Different social organizations  condemned efforts made by DK Police department to shield ACP Jaganath from sexual harassment case of Pandeshwara ASI Shashikala.

Speaking to the press at Woodlands hotel Mangalore today Muneer Katipalla DYFI activist accused police department of willful denial of justice to ASI Shashikala by bring up a old fraud case afresh against Shashikals husband and there by trying to accuse her of bad conduct. By bringing case against her  husband the police department is trying to silence ASI Shashikala of sexual harassment case.

Mangalore south ACP Jaganath is Bad cop from day one when he was PSI in Panambur police station. A atrocity  case has been registered against him in SP office nd even it went to court. His conduct was under scanner since then. But the police department shielded him throughout and even promoted him. More than 10 cases were registered against him after he became ACP, Katipalla said.

It is indeed strange that in spite of serious case of sexual harassment has been registered against him,   police department not even suspended him let alone registering  a FIR. He should have been suspended until the preliminary enquiry  is over.  The appointment of lower ranking officials to investigate shows that the police is not serious in this matter and he urged the new government to take up this case in right earnest and provide justice to ASI Shashikala.
