Kundapur : A man identified as Dinesh Acharya, Co-Convenor of Kundapur unit of Bhajrangdal was brutally assaulted by the public after he barged into a house near a mosque at Kadlur on May 29, Wednesday night  and attempted to molest a married woman.

A large crowd which gathered after the woman’s sister raised a cry, beat up Acharya. The police who rushed to the spot, rescued him and rushed him to the hospital. He is learnt to have sustained serious injuries.

Obedulla, Naushad, Jeffrey, Mohammed Rafiq, Syed and Muzammil though were trapped, two of them  Naushad and Syed managed to escape. Senior police officials have visited the spot.  The accused Dinesh too has lodged a case stating he was assaulted.
