Sullia : Six teachers and a second grade assistant of the Government high school at Aletty were suspended after the DDPI conducted a surprise raid following complaints that the teachers were resorting to factionalism and were instigating students to revolt against some teachers. The teachers also faced complaints of going on leave unauthorisedly.
Earlier, the Block Education Officer had investigated into the complaint and submitted a report which found that some of the allegations were true. During the raid by the DDPI, the in-charge Headmistress had gone on unauthorized leave, while even the teacher Chandrashekhar to whom she had entrusted charge was not present in school. The in-charge headmistress, the teacher on leave as also V Subrahmanya, K Hariprasad, K Chandramathi, physical education teacher, N Shivakumar, and second grade assistant, Yogeesh Bharath were suspended from service.
The DDPI has appointed resource officer of block resource centre, Dr Sundar Kenaje, as the in-charge headmaster of the school. More teachers are to be admitted to the school soon.
