Mangalore :  The Mangalore AC Sadashiva Prabhu has directed officials to be stern  and suspend licence of hotels and business establishments which do not take efficient measures to dispose wastes and which do not maintain cleanliness.

Speaking at a meet at TP office under the aegis of the Zilla Panchayat,  Department of Health and Family Welfare the officer said  the officials should  be stern while granting and renewing licences.

Steps should also be taken to renew serve notices to marriage halls that fail to maintain cleanliness, he said.

 Awareness programmes should also be held in schools and colleges so that children are aware of the symptoms of Dengue, malaria etc. he said.

District Malaria Control officer Dr Arun said a total of ten teams are on a regular visit to sites to check if there are any breeding ground for mosquitoes.
