Kundapur : A village assistant  of Belni in Bhatkal who was allegedly being harassed by the Assistant Commissioner and was in fear of losing his job, has attempted suicide

The village assistant named Madev Nagappa naik of Belni has now been treated at a private hospital and is in a critical state. According to reports despite being a village assistant, he was asked to do household works of Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner VR Manohar.

It is learnt when Madev was on leave and when the AC asked to bring milk, he had sent his younger brother who was beaten up,  Even complaining to the tahsildar was useless

On June 13 Madev was handed over a letter of dismissal following which a frustrated Madev consumed phenyl in the  toilet.

Tahsildars of Bhatkal and Kundapur visited Madev in the hospital.
