Mangalore : Hundreds of mourners had gathered at the St Vincent Ferrer Church Valencia on June 14, Friday to bid a tearful farewell to Fr Henry Castelino  who passed away recently.

Fr Castelino was 80. He was the former chancellor of Mangalore Diocese and former principal of St Philomena’s College, Puttur and St Mary’s college, Shirva.

Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza was the main celebrant of the mass. Bishop of Udupi Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Archbishop of Delhi Dr Anil Joseph Thomas Couto along with several other priests concelebrated the Eucharistic mass.

Fr Anthony Serrao, parish priest of Bendore church, who delivered the sermon spoke on the service works of late Fr Henry Castelino.

Fr Norbert D’Souza, a close friend  of the departed priest, presented a befitting tribute.

 Former CM DV Sadananda Gowda, Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo who were Fr Castelino’s former students, also visited the church and paid their last respects.
