Mangalore : Manjunath alias Kalla Manja, a JD(S) Booth Committee President   who has been accused of raping a minor is presently at large and the police have launched a search for him.

It is said he raped the minor girl who was the daughter of a laborer family from Dharwad was invited by one Manjula to her house only to find Manjunath who  allegedly raped her. The girl who returned home attempted suicide by consuming some chemical. That she was raped came to light when she was rushed to hospital.

It is learnt, Manjunath who was the son of a NMPT employee, who worked as a driver, was unemployed since some and loitering in the area. The incident is learnt to have taken place in a house behind a government school at Lingappaiahkadu.

Since then both Manjula and Manjunath are missing and police are searching for them.
