Islamabad, A militant grenade attack on the house of founder of Pakistan, Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, destroyed the historical monument in Ziarat area of southwestern Pakistan on Saturday.
The attack on the residence of the founder of Pakistan destroyed the historic house, killing one policeman guarding the house, a police official told the press.
According to police, four militants who came on two motorbikes entered the residence and hurled hand grenades, destroying the house and all old memorials inside.
The chairs, beds, and historic photographs were burnt to the ground in the resulting fire.
The bomb disposal squad told media that six more bombs were planted inside the residence, which was defused by the bomb experts.
The wooden structure of the residence had been burnt down; however, the exterior concrete structure was still intact, said police. The militants flee away from the scene immediately after the attack. The security forces cordoned off the area and carried investigation to the incident.
Ziarat had been a tourist point in Balochistan due to its beauty and the historic wooden structured house of the founder of Pakistan.
