New Delhi : Senior Congress leader from Udupi and Rajya Sabha Member Oscar Fernandes is likely to be a Union Minister. That he has been  relieved of the post of  the AICC General Secretary post  has also substantiated the speculations.

The Union Council of Ministers is scheduled to be expanded on June 17, Monday  evening to fill Cabinet vacancies created by the recent resignations and the exit of DMK.

Oscar Fernandes  has once earlier too served as Union Minister. Sources have revealed Oscar may be inducted as Union Minister for Surface Transport. He has already cancelled all his programmes in Udupi and left for Delhi.
