Udupi : State Home Minister KJ George has said that efforts would be made to have a women’s police station in Udupi.
Addressing a meeting convened at Congress Bhavan on June 18, Tuesday, the Home Minister directed the police not to hesitate to register complaints of any nature by the public. He said the police department was getting a bad name due to the acts of a few and added the department has been given stern instructions to keep up the repute of the department.
Urban Development Minister who also spoke, said there has been a ploy to sow the seeds of difference in the society for political gains.
Legislator Pramod Madhwaraj also spoke on the occasion. Udupi District Congress President Gopal Poojari, Congress leaders Ashok Kumar Kodavur, Veronica Carnelio, Gopal Bhandari, and others were present.
