Lucknow: Like India in 1947, Ayodhya was partitioned in 3 parts in the disputed area of 2.77acres on Sept 30, 2010 by a Lucknow bench, of 3 Judges.
One of the Judge, D.V. Sharma retires today (01-10-2010). The area has been unanimously accepted as the birthplace of the 7th Avatar of Vishnu, Lord Rama, the hero of the popular Ramayana. Having crossed that hurdle, the Lucknow bench of the UP Allahabad High Court goes forward to partition the land into 3, one to Sunny Wakf Board who are a party to the dispute, and bifurcates the balance land of about 1.85 acres between Nirmohi Dharam Akhada and the original Hindus who worship Ram Lulla images where Babri memorial (razed to the ground on 06-12-1992) stood.
The Hindus have an opportunity to go forward with the construction of Sri Rama Temple on the joint pieces of land belonging to Akhada and the Hindus.
There is disappointment among Indian Muslims in Delhi, who had earlier agreed to bow their heads to whatever verdict is delivered on Ayodhya at the eleventh hour, by Lucknow bench. Those dissatisfied can always appeal to Supreme Court, which will confirm what the HC Bench in Lucknow (UP) has stated at 4.15 pm on Thursday.
As a matter of decency, the parties should accede to the Lucknow verdict in a case that lasted 60 years. The Hindus have asked Muslims to hand over their legal portion of the land to Hindus, to complete the formalities of building the huge Ram Lulla temple in Ayodhya, when Ram Leela is beginning all over UP on Oct 8, and Dasara starts in South India.
The minorities have to open up their hearts to the Hindus outside the Court now, and enable completion of the construction of Sri Rama Temple at his legendary birth place.
There are no disputes in Kashi, Mathura, Indraprastha (Delhi) where mosques still exist over Hindu historical heritage places, in North India. If both communities are really friendly to each other, they should accommodate one another in India now.
