Mangalore : Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas M Veerappa Moily has said that the construction of the new block of the Ladygoschen Hospital  would be completed by December , 2014.

The minister was speaking to media men after inspecting the works on the block on June 24, Monday. He even interacted with the Deputy Commissioner, Hospital administration as well as officials of the  ONGC-MRPL which is funding the project.

He said once two floors are completed, the block will be handed over to the hospital which is facing shortage of space, to accommodate patients.

 Moily said compensation would be provided to the  families of the victims of Perne gas tragedy within six weeks.

N Prakash, Deputy Commissioner, PP Upadhya, Managing Director of MRPL, Dr Shakuntala, Superintendent of Lady Goschen Hospital, former MUDA chairman Tejomaya, Corporators Shashidhar Hegde, Bhasker Moily and others accompanied the minister during his visit.
