Mangalore : In a tragic event, a father and a son died on the same day landing a family at Kotekar in utter grief.

If a businessman  Venkatesh Mallya (36) had died due to ill-health on June 24, Monday, his father Lakshman Mallya (70) who was at a loss following his son’s death, died of heart attack soon after performing the last rites of his son.

Lakshman Mallya  was a former trustee of Lakshmi Narasimha Temple, Ullal and former president of Ullal Lions Club.

He was also active in various organizations and was a former employee of Ganesh Beedies before starting his own business at Kotekar.

 Shopkeepers  in Kotekar Beeri voluntarily closed their establishments as a mark of respect to the two departed souls.
