Byndoor: A 17 year female college student found dead at Ottinene Gudda near Byndoor on Wednesday, June 17.

The deceased is Akshatha (17), a resident of Henberu village and a II year Science student of Byndoor Pre-University College.

It is said Akshatha had left from college on time, she did not returned home. The family members and locals launched a search for her only to find her dead in the forest.

Police have suspected that it could a case of murder as a shawl was firmly tied around the victim’s neck. However, no evidences have been found as yet. She had secured 95 per cent marks in her SSLC exam.

Udupi SP Annamalai, Kundapur DySP Manjunath Shetty, Byndoor Station Inspector Santhosh Kaikini, Kudapur Circle Inspector Diwakar, Byndoor Special Tahshildar Kiran Gowraiah, Byndoor PU College Principal Palaksha visited the residence of Akshatha.

Byndoor police have registered a case and investigations are on.
