Kundapur : A body of a 61-year-old woman was found in strange conditions at Sugodi near Bidkalkatte at Yadadi Matyadi on October 21, Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Seeta Kulalthi, wife of Annayya Kulal, a resident Nalthooru Jaddinamane.
Seetha was a member of a self-help group under Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project.
It is learnt that, she had gone by auto rickshaw to pay an installment at Suvidha collection centre of Hondadi Kalikamba group at Hombadi, Bidkalkatte and stopped for a soft drink at a shop in Bidkalkatte.
When her family members did not find her back home in afternoon, they started searching for her. In the meantime, a woman saw Seetha’s body near the cashew trees next to a mud road about 150 meters away from the main road leading to her house.
Immediately family members rushed to the spot and found that her face was crushed and there were no other wounds on the body.
Local suspects the death to be caused by leopard attack. However, there were no wounds on her body too.
Her neighbors informed that Seeta had no enemies and has not borrowed money from anyone, and had been saving for the last ten years. It was not even the case of robbery since jewellery worn by her was left untouched. The actual reason behind the death is yet to be known.
Seeta has left behind her husband, three sons and a daughter.
Kota police have registered a case in this regard.
