New Delhi : Ace Indian music director A.R.Rahman did not have the luck to secure 2 more Oscars this year as his music in Best Original Score and best song categories was not successful.
Indian hopes in editing also crashed when NRI editor Tariq Ansar failed to impress for the film ‘The King’s Speech”.
Rehman performed in black suit his nominated track “If I rise”, from the Danny Boyle film “127 Hours” with British Pop Star Florence Welch, securing applause from the audience.
The Mozart of Madras, 45-year old Rehman, lost the golden trophy in 2009 and 2010.
However Rehman had won a BAFTA nomination this year. He won, instead, a Critics Choice award for his haunting music tracks and wonderful crescendos (climatic sound) in ‘127 hours’ directed by Danny Boyle. Rehman returned empty-handed in the 83rd Academy Awards given here today in Hollywood. India’s ‘Peepli Live’ failed in contention for Best Foreign Film.
