Mangalore: She practices dentistry in Mangalore which produces hundreds of dental doctors every year. But the dental service has to be of a high order. Then the doctor’s dental care fame spreads through oral channels and soon attracts the notice of higher personalities. Prof CNR Rao among the research scientists has attained a high level of advising four or five PMs in science matters. Now Ms Mithra N. Hegde brings another feather to the crown of Karnataka, and Mangalore, of being appointed a dentist (a lady doctor at that for the first time) to no less a person than the (lady) President of India, Ms Pratibha Devisingh Patel Shekhawat. The 6 crores of Kannadigas must be feeling proud of Dr. Mithra who is also a Tulu woman.
Originally from what is now Udupi district, Dr. Hegde has established herself as lady dentist in Mangalore. When most of the posts connected to the President easily go to Northern India personalities, Ms Mithra has succeeded in retaining her South Indian and Tuluva looks to get into Presidential Palace (Rashtrapathi Bhawan).
Dr. Mithra and Dr. Nidarsh not only practice dentistry but also teach medical science in Mangalore. Both are working in Deralakatte Dr. A.B. Shetty (a former Health Minister) memorial Institute. They have jointly established ‘Dental Specialty Clinic & Dental Cosmetic Surgery Centre’ in Kankanady, Mangalore. Both have 20 years of medical experience. Mega Media salutes them.
