Mangaluru : In an shocking attempt of murder a third-year civil engineering student was allegedly stabbed by a group of miscreants at Adyar Padavu here on Friday July 7 evening.

Sajid (23), a native of Mallapuram in Kerala was allegedly attacked by the group. He has been admitted to a private hospital in the city.

It is said that Sajid and his friend Naufal were stopped by a group of three miscreants at Bittupade. They asked them for petrol, saying that the fuel in their bike had been exhausted. When Sajid and Naufal came forward to give them petrol, the group allegedly attacked them.

Sajid sustained injuries on his hand and stomach, sources said.

The police rushed to the spot.
