Mangalore: A gas cylinder caught fire as the food vendor was changing the new cylinder in a street food joint located at Ullal on September 26, Friday.
It is learnt that, the vendor who went to change the new cylinder which did not have the washer as previous was empty caught fire.
The locals who saw the fire rush to extinguish the fire and burning for about 30 minutes. Later the fire brigade was summoned to douse the fire.
The incident caused the loss to the vendor as the food items were spoiled but no one was hurt.
The Ullal police arrived at a spot and controlled the situation.
